Today i played a probability game called whats in the bag there was a bag with 6 counters in it there were some blue and some yellow  I did not know how much there were of each colour in total i picked out 12 blues and 4 yellows I guessed there were 4 blue counters (4/6) and 2 yellow counters (2/6) I guessed correctly

I learnt that when you start off you grab the biggest plumpest of grains.
I learnt the stalks grow straight and tall.
I learnt that If you water the plants well they can grow up to 1-2 centimetres a day
I learnt that small flowers drop pollen  from the top of the corn
I learnt that pink furry things that grow on the corn is called silks and they catch pollen from the flowers above.
I learnt that the corn is ready when its hard                           

My PBL writing review of jolly jars

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers putting us into groups. In these groups we had to work collaboratively to create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

I learnt that instructions need to be correct and easy to understand in all ways and they have to have bossy verbs like put, fold and drop. They also need to have a title and instructions.


Reflection on PBL:
For our Jolly Jar my group created door hangers to hang on your door handle.

I contributed to my group by bringing in most of the materials like cardboard and colors
And also thinking of new ideas and ways to make our project more exciting.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because we made it so they can have any design they want
And they can make their favourite colour and make it stand out.

What I learned about working with others was you have to share round ideas and work together by communicating and sharing ideas that will work smoothly with your idea.

How did we build community through our actions?  by making new friends in our school groups. We worked together by cooperating and talking about what we think would make it more interesting and fun to make.
 

Unfortunately I was not at the fair but it sounded awesome and I wish I was there. I was in Queenstown at my uncle and aunt's wedding on the beach. It was awesome I loved it.
